James Dunnigan , aka "I", am a writer of fiction and poet from Montréal, Québec. My first of five poetry chapbooks, The Stained Glass Sequence, won the 2018 Frog Hollow Press Chapbook competition. I've been shortlisted for the 2024 Peter Hinchcliffe Short Fiction award, the 2018 Gwendolyn MacEwen Poetry award and the 2014 QWF Quebec Writing competition. I've published work in Canada and in the US, in places like P-QUEUE, The New Quarterly, The Fiddlehead, Event Magazine, CV2, Maisonneuve Magazine and Hamilton Arts and Letters.  From 2020 to 2025, I worked as an editor for the Montréal publisher Cactus Press and am now a periodical contributor of book reviews for The Miramichi Reader. I am currently completing a PhD in English at the University of Toronto.
